The hotel is located 1 kilometre from Glasgow city centre, including the boutique shops of Buchanan Street and the bars and restaurants of the Merchant City. It is also a relatively short walk to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre and close to the M8 motorway, meaning that Glasgow International Airport is only 10 to 15 minutes’ drive away.

The Marriott Hotel is a modern, 13-storey, purpose-built property. The lobby is very large, with a striking tiled floor, a dark wood reception area, ample seating and a modern log fireplace. The 300 guestrooms feature light decor, cream walls, floral fabrics, wooden furnishings and green carpets. They are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. They all have the facilities business guests would require including safes large enough for laptops and internet access, although there is a charge for this. twin rooms have two double beds which is ideal for families with young children. At the moment, there are 2 floors in the hotel with smoking rooms which would be available on a request basis.
Guests enjoy access to the heated indoor pool, which is enhanced by chrome details and wooden lounge chairs with black padded cushions. The Distinction Health And Beauty Spa also offers a range of pampering treatments, including body scrubs, wraps, paraffin hand treatments and massages.
The hotel’s Mediterrano Restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes in the warm, colourful setting, while Chats is a relaxing American-style bar, where guests can have a light bite for lunch and dinner or just unwind with a drink.
The hotel has on site parking and is charged at only £3 per day, the cheapest in Glasgow! (correct May 2008).
